Returning Student Housing Selection Process
Step 3: Select Your Room

All students participating in the Housing Selection Process will receive their Housing Selection Pick Time the day before the housing selection process they qualify for.

TO SELECT YOUR ROOM FOR THE 2024-2025 ACADEMIC YEAR:

  1. Logon to the MyHousing Portal by entering your AIC e-mail and password.
  2. Click "Roommate/Room Selection" from the top of the screen and select "Select a Room or Suite."
  3. Search for your desired room/suite/apartment. If you have a roommate group you will only see options that accommodate your group.
  4. View the available options and make your selection

To select a suite or apartment, click the "Select Suite" button beside any room in the suite or apartment.

SINGLE ROOMS
are not available during the selection period. There will be a waitlist for student to join. All students must be in housing to join a waitlist.

Suites/Apartments:
Arrange your suite or apartment by placing each member of your roommate group into the appropriate room.

Once you are sure the information is correct, click "I Agree - Submit My Room Selection". You will not be able to change your assignment or go back to pull other students in, once you click this button.

If you get a "No Rooms Available" message:
If there are no room options available, you should reconfigure your roommate group (Example: 4 people grouped together will ONLY see quad rooms that are still available). To do this, you would need to:

  1. Login to the MyHousing Portal
  2. Click "Roommate/Room Selection" and select "Roommate/Suitemate"
  3. To remove someone from your roommate group, click the red button next to their name

All in a roommate group must make the same changes in their individual MyHousing Portal accounts for the change to go through.

Some residence halls require that students be a certain age or class standing in order to live there. This is important to keep in mind while making your roommate groupings. Additionally, in order to select an available space during your pick time, you will need to have enough in your group to fill the space.

For Example: to select a Broadhurst Suite, you must have three people in your group (no less, no more) who are all at least 20 years old by the start of the Spring 2025 term OR be a senior by the end of the Spring 2024 term.

Ungrouped

Complete the first step in the Housing Selection Process! When you apply for housing, you also agree to the terms in the AIC Housing Agreement. Be sure to review this document before applying for housing.

NOTE: You will not be able to match with roommates or select a room without first applying for housing.

Starting on February 12, 2024, you'll be able to search for and match with your roommates for next year.

Some of the questions you should ask one another before matching as roommates are:

  • Do both of you want to live in the same residence hall next year?
  • When do you both generally go to sleep and wake up on weekdays vs. weekends?
  • How do you plan to schedule sleep, study, and socializing time in your room/suite/apartment?
  • Do you have any unique quirks a roommate should be aware of?
  • When are you okay with guests coming into your room/suite/apartment?
  • How will you and your roommate keep your space clean AND tidy?

After you have applied for housing, and matched with roommates you'll be able to select your housing during housing selection week. Check here for information on:
