The Saremi Center for Career Development provides guidance, tools, and resources for career success -- both during and after your time at AIC.

In addition to providing regular workshops on developing your career portfolio, the Saremi Center also administers AIC's work study program and maintains a list of full-time, part-time, summer and internship opportunities on our job database, AIC JobX.

The Saremi Center is the result of the shared vision of noted alumnus and trustee K. Kevin Saremi and his wife and fellow alumni Debbie Saremi. Both had enjoyed a favorable experience with what was then known as “The Placement Center” when they were students at the college. Through their generosity and stewardship the Career Development Office was renovated and supplied with modern equipment to empower a new generation of American International College students and alumni to receive the help and assistance to define, develop and to achieve their employment goals.

We're open Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm; you can reach us at 413.654.1411 or saremicenter@aic.edu.  We're located in the Campus Center, on the 1st Floor between the Colaccino Living Room and the Campus Store.

Statement of Purpose:

The Saremi Center is here to enthusiastically engage members of the AIC community to develop, evaluate, and implement career, education, and employment plans utilizing complementing Career Development Theories toward favorable individual outcomes throughout each stage of the career lifespan.  Constituents served will be encouraged to learn, grow and develop through risk-taking, experience, and experimenting with adapting to changing conditions while capitalizing on opportunity when and where it may arise.  To support these efforts, the center provides the obligatory transactional services generally associated with career centers including, but not limited to, job search strategies, resume and cover letter preparation, interest assessments, as well as the administration of on-campus student employment, internships, and graduate assistantships.   The center seeks to become a resource for career and workplace issues, employment and workforce data, a valued partner with faculty, administrators, staff, students, alumni, and the community to develop programming that fits the needs of all our constituencies.  We will seek to promote awareness of the full array of global and domestic occupations, as well as the rate of change, globalization, automation, economic restructuring, increased competition, and the many other factors that impact the life cycle of these forms of employment.  Our guiding principle will be to always do what is right for the student first and foremost.
