Who Can Move In Early?
The Office of Residence Life allows the following students to move-in early:


• Fall Athletes with Coach Approval
Must be in season for Fall 2024 and actively participating in training camps, practice, or competition during stay.

If an athlete arrives prior to their approved move-in date, they will be charged $45 per night.

• Student Workers with AIC Supervisor Approval
Must be employed upon arrival and actively being trained or conducting work for the department employed by.
If a student worker arrives prior to their approved move-in date, they will be charged $45 per night.

• Students Traveling over 350 Miles to American International College
May arrive up to one (1) day prior to scheduled move-in day free of charge, otherwise they will be charged $45 per night.

 

When Can I Move In?

FALL ATHLETES:
After completing the Early Arrival Application and upon approval.
Moving in prior to your coach-approved move-in date will result in a $45 per night fee.

STUDENT WORKERS:
Student workers will receive an approved date for move in from their supervisor.
These dates will be announced as supervisors determine start dates for their employers.

STUDENTS TRAVELING OVER 350 MILES TO AIC'S CAMPUS:
First-Year Undergraduate Students will be allowed to move in as soon as August 23rd, free of charge. Arriving to campus before August 23rd will result in a $45 per night fee.

Sophomore, Junior, Seniors, and Graduate Students will be allowed to move in as soon as August 25th, free of charge. Arriving to campus before August 25th will result in a $45 per night fee.

Will I Be Billed for Arriving Early?

Students arriving early who are not Coach-Approved Fall Athletes or Supervisor-Approved Student Workers will be charged $45 per night of their arrival.

Fall Athletes and Student Workers will not be billed for arriving on or after the date their coach or supervisor provides them. If a Fall Athlete or Student Worker arrives before the date their coach or supervisor provides them, they will be billed $45 per night up to the date that was provided to them.

Students who are traveling more than 350 miles to AIC's Springfield Campus may arrive one day earlier than than expected move-in date without being charged (i.e the Football team is expected to move in August 7th. Student traveling 350+ miles may arrive August 6th without being charged). Arriving more than a day before your expected arrival date will result in a $45 per night fee.

 

Ready to Apply?

Make sure you have:
• Your coach or supervisor's name if you are a Fall Athlete or a Student Worker
• The date your coach or supervisor approved you to move in early
• Your MyHousing Portal log-in information.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Log into the MyHousing Portal
  2. Click: "Application" at the top of the screen
  3. Click: "Early Arrival Application (FA-24)"
  4. Fill out completely and click "Continue"
  5. You will receive a confirmation message once your application is submitted successfully

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION AT LEAST FIVE (5) DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL SO THAT WE MAY PROCESS YOUR REQUEST AND PREPARE FOR YOUR ARRIVAL.

There is a $100 late fee for students who show up to campus to move in early without filling an Early Arrival Application.

 

How Do I Move In On My Arrival Date?
1.) New Incoming Students:
New incoming students will be able to pick up their AIC Student ID and room key(s) from Campus Police, located in Hines Hall on the main AIC campus anytime, day or night.

2.) Returning Students
Returning students will be able to pick up their room key(s) from Campus Police, located in Hines Hall on the AIC main campus, anytime day or night. If a returning student has lost their AIC Student ID, they may request a new one from Campus Police.

Once you have picked up your AIC Student ID and room key(s), you will then be able to move into your Fall 2024 Housing Assignment.
