The Teen Parent Program (TPP), a program of Open Pantry Community Services, Inc., is a residential program for young parents (14-21 years old) and their children who are pregnant and/or parenting and in need of a safe place to live. The program is designed to assist teen parents in accessing resources and supportive services available in the community. While at the TPP, case managers work with the teens to prepare them to live on their own and to be self-sufficient.

The Springfield Rescue Mission’s 43-bed Men’s Emergency Shelter provides homeless men nutritious meals, safe shelter, counseling, and referrals to community resources as needed free of charge. To reserve a bed, call the Rescue Mission at 413-732-0516 or 413-732-0808.

YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter

The Jorge Oterro Barreto Homeless Veterans Transitional Program

Open to homeless veterans to assist them in the transition from their current situation back into mainstream society.
The Program houses 12 veterans offering counseling, DVA services from the Western Mass Bi-Lingual Veterans Outreach Center, assistance in obtaining Chapter 115 financial assistance, AA/NA meetings and Christian Rehabilitation Substance Abuse meetings.
This program is available for any veteran honorably discharged that meets the criteria and is in need. Veterans needing housing assistance can call the Western Massachusetts Bilingual Outreach Center at 413-731-0194 or Edwin Colon at 413-739-1082.
 

The City of Springfield Department of Veterans' Services’ primary duty is to provide information, counsel and assistance to veterans and their dependents as may be necessary to enable them to procure the benefits to which they are or may be entitled relative to employment, vocational, or other educational opportunities, hospitalization, medical care, pensions and other veteran benefits.
