Welcome to the Public Health program at AIC!
U.S. News and World Report recently listed the public health major as one of 11 fast growing college majors for which graduates would have good job prospects (see link)¹. Another study found public health to be among the top 10 college majors likely to lead to satisfying careers (see link)².
I am excited about the rapid growth of the Public Health major at AIC since it was introduced in the spring of 2014. The major prepares students for entry level jobs in government agencies, health corporations, community nonprofit organizations, and healthcare facilities. The degree is also excellent preparation for a master’s in public health program.
If you want to learn more about the field of public health, and about the many kinds of jobs available, the links below will get you started. I also suggest you plunge in and do some searching on your own, as there are numerous internet resources pertaining to the field of public health.
This page will also be the place to find the latest information on the program, including the curriculum, faculty contact information, public health events here at AIC and in the community, and resources to help students get experience in the field.
